Wish all of you could have been there. There was so much excitement in the air you could almost see the sparks flying. It has been a very long time since we sisters were able to gather together in such a large diverse group. Members from across the United States and Canada came together to recharge and learn from each other. We would like to thank the Grand Lodge for hosting our event as well as our own local lodges who recognized and provided the ability to attend.
Our facilitator Rhonda Rogers, Director of the Women’s Department, Grand Lodge had a very aggressive, challenging and full schedule prepared.
Panel discussions were held daily on many subjects. Women Rising: The Pathway to Leadership, Women Rising: The Intersectionality of Union Building, Unite the Fight: Organizing for the Future, Unite the Fight: Justice on the Job, Sister Organizers, Unite the Fight: Women Rising in the Workplace.
We had workshops on a very broad range of topics. Preserving Women’s Labor History, Eastern Gateway Community College Labor Studies Program, Solidarity in a Diverse Workplace, Bargaining for Women and Working Families, Representing in Challenging Situations and Ask Your Sheroes: Sister Voices.
