Craig Krzewina reported the Move Team is looking to expand. Bidding starts today (February 21, 2017) and ends March 14.  Outage relief bid to start.

Reservations

Sister Sue Adams reported on 1 IRM, with agent resigning and 3 IRM’s within next 2 weeks.

Customer Service

Sister Tricia Gaughan reported United seeking more agents for the New Polaris Lounge. Relief bid was yesterday and I report of dependability.

Retiree’s

Karen Carney thanked the membership for all we do.  She advised Elections are coming up. Just a reminder please spread the word about the club, we always need new members.

December 20, 2016
DL 141
Erik Stenberg reported on behalf of DL 141, he informed the membership that the final lump sum payout.
He also wished everyone a very Happy Holiday.

Craig Krzewina reported on 1 IRH, he also thanked the outgoing e-board and wished everyone a happy holiday.

 

Maintenance Instructors
Dave Stege reported that Maintenance Instructor Mike Murphy has been returned back to work after a 13 year furlough.

Customer Service

Darlene Williams reported on activity in Customer Service which included the bid for Outage Relief will be on January 8, 2017. She also reported on 1 IRH for dependability.

EAP
Mark Sanderson reported on activity for the Employee Assistance Program and wished everyone a very happy holiday.

CS-Sister Charity Hamer informed the membership of activity in customer service.

Mark Sanderson reported on activity for the Employee Assistance Program which included the newest Helping Hands news flier and

November 15, 2016

Ramp and Related
Craig Krzewina reported on activity which included the status of the vacation bidding and other grievance activity.
He thank all military veterans for their service.

Reservations
Sister Sue Adams reported on activity in RES which included 1 return to work.

Customer Service
Sister Darlene Williams report included that there was a shop stewards training taking place that day.
DAT bidding will begin on Dec 5th.
CS plans on hiring throughout 2017 about 12 agents every month.
They have a grievance on file on valets working Polaris.

Grace Spilotro-Razny reported on the status of the vacation bid

Brother Chris Olmstead reported on activity in Stores which included their shift bid will begin on November 13th and then they will move to vacation bidding.

EAP
Mark Sanderson reported on activity for the Employee Assistance Program. His report included the need to assist people during the holidays, the holidays can bring on depression for those who fill the loss of a family member or friend.

Karen Carney reported on their activity including wishing everyone a very happy holiday season.

November 1, 2016

District Lodge 141
President Direction General Chairman- Mike Klemm made a station visit to Local Lodge 1487, which he gave a report.
His report was very insightful, here are a few of the topics which he spoke.
   

President Klemm report included the UAL pay increases are scheduled for November 15 will be paid beginning November 13, 2016, two days early.

President Klemm also discussed the IAM National pension plan, stating that for most of us who continue to work for duration of this contract should expect to see the pension double by time you retiree.

Also, the DL has generated the Community Service department and hope all Locals participate in helping to create a strong Community Service.

He stated that one goal was to visit every Local Lodge at least 1 time during the calendar year and is glad to say if they make two more stations visits this year he would have completed not just 1 visit, but 2 visits in the 2016 for each Local Lodge.

He concluded by thanking his AGC’s stating that with their knowledge and assistance DL 141 arbitration’s cases have been very successful for this year.

Sister Darlene Williams report included vacation bid for Customer Service and the progress they are making.

Darlene also, informed the members of activity for Customer Service which included 2 OT bypasses

MTI

Brother Dave Stege reported on activity for the maintenance instructors which included vacancies which need to be filled.

Stores

Brother Chris Olmstead reported on activity in Stores which included their shift bid will begin on November 9th and then they will move to vacation bidding.

EAP

Mark Sanderson reported on activity for the Employee Assistance Program. His report included the EAP training that took place on October 25, 2016, was very successful. Brother Sanderson reminded us if we know anyone who may need EAP assistance please refer them to the EAP, and that the EAP program is not just for members, if you have family or friends which may need assistance they are here for them as well.

Load Planners

Harry Saafeld reported in the bid and stated that the company is looking in hiring more LP in the near future.

Southwest Reservations

RES-Sister Toni Mertes informed the membership of 2 hearings which were rescinded.

CS-Charity Hamer reported on activity which included the vacation bid, also grievance activity.

October 18, 2016

Ramp and Related
Craig Krzewina reported on activity which included 2 IRH 5’s for attendance and 2 pass travel hearings.

Reservations
Sister Sue Adams reported on activity in RES which included vacation bidding starts November 7, 2016 and ending November 21, 2016, and assigned time can be found under Staff Planning Library.
There was a recall of agents returned October 10, 2016, and are in the process of being retained after 2 years of being on furlough.
Sue reminded that Open Enrollment started October 10th, and is closing October 28, 2016.
Sister Sue Adams closed by thanking the membership for allowing her to attend the DL 141 convention.

Customer Service
Sister Darlene Williams report included that there is a second meeting scheduled with the company for the upcoming vacation bid for Customer Service.
Darlene also, informed the members of activity for Customer Service which included 1 IRM which resulted in the member being returned back to work with full back pay.

FTI and Related
Sister Grace Spilotro-Razny report included thanking the membership for allowing her at attend the recent DL 141 convention, adding that the convention was very informative in being able to provide the membership the best up to date information.

Stores
Brother Chris Olmstead reported on activity in Stores which included thanking the membership for allowing him to participate and attend at the District Lodge 141 convention. His report also included information on the shift bid, and stated that he presented 2 grievances for overtime by passes.

EAP
Mark Sanderson reported on activity for the Employee Assistance Program. His report included an upcoming EAP training scheduled for October 25, 2016, held at Local Lodge 1487. Brother Sanderson reminded us if we know anyone who may need EAP assistance please refer them to the

Steve Teike report included 1 Overtime by pass.

Southwest Reservations
Sister Cheryl Taylor informed the membership of 2 grievances which resulted in back pay to the members. And let everyone know that they just hires 16 new employees and more to come soon.

Southwest Customer Service
Charity Hamer reported on activity in CS at SWA which included 1 first step. There is a new system training “ONERES” that has begun.

Retirees Club
Retiree Club President Sister Karen Carney, thanked the member of Local Lodge 1487 for all of the support and assistance they provide to the club.

Legislative Committee:
Dave Roderick report included thanking the membership for allowing him to attend the District Lodge 141 convention. He stated that he was assigned to the Machinists Non-Parisian Political League (MNPL), and with the assistance of the committee was able to raise over $16,000.00. He also gave a brief election report and reminded even though it may look like Hillary Clinton is in the lead by about 7%, do not lose momentum, we all still have to remain focused and out out and vote.

October 4, 2016

Sue Adams- Reported for Reservations which included a grievance which went for a step 1 to a step 3 that resulted in the recall of Res workers.

Darlene Williams reported on activity in CS which included
The upcoming vacation bid and then took question from the membership.

The ongoing shift bid, 3 grievances and then thanked the membership for allowing the Local Lodge 1487 delegates to be able to attend the GL Convention.

Brother Chris Olmstead report included 1 grievance and 1 by pass.

Southwest Airlines:
Charity Hamer thanked the membership for allowing her to attend Leadership 2.

Retirees:
Karen Carney reported on the club and thanked the membership for all we do, and thanked everyone for the condolences of her mother’s resent passing and flowers that were sent.

 

Ramp and Related
Craig Krzewina reported on activity which the shift bid for ramp, with a scheduled date of August 21st.  And stated that there will be new rules implemented at same time. He also reported on 1 IRH and the concern of the trades which affect CLP trained employees.

Reservations
Sue Adams- Reported for Reservations which included 1 IRH which resulted in a RTW.
She discussed the changed process of awarding AUTO stating that grievances have been filed.

Customer Service
Darlene Williams reported on activity in CS which included the company working to put the shift bid together and hopefully they will be ready in the next two of weeks.
I CSR returned to full duty and made whole.
And 2 documented verbal warnings removed.
Sister Williams also gave a detailed report on her recent training at the WWW center for L-2. The report included Collective Bargaining, Advance Stewardship, Government Labor and Labor History.
The week included lobbing on Capitol Hill which included contacting Senator Dick Durbin and Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth to discuss labor concerns including assaults on customer service workers.
She thanked the membership for allowing her to attend.

Chris Olmstead report included 1 RTW for attendance.

EAP
Marvin Harris reported on activity in EAP which included the concerns for the victims in New Orleans.

Retirees
Karen Carney reported on the club and thanked the membership for all we do.
